The Beginning

Vidhya Niketan — The Abode of Knowledge

Long before the gates bore the name Eden, this institution was known as Vidhya Niketan — a Sanskrit name meaning the Abode of Knowledge. Founded with the purest of intentions, it was built to serve the families of Bhilwara who believed that education was not a privilege, but a right.

In its early years, the school operated modestly — small classrooms, determined teachers, and generations of curious young minds who would go on to shape their city. The ethos was simple: academic honesty, personal discipline, and a deep respect for the pursuit of learning.

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

Vidhya Niketan quietly became woven into the fabric of Bhilwara. Parents who had studied here brought their own children to these classrooms. The school held the trust of a community — and it did not take that trust lightly.

A Community
Grows Around
a School

Through the 1980s and 1990s, Vidhya Niketan grew steadily. New classrooms were added, the faculty expanded, and the school’s reputation spread through Bhilwara and the surrounding districts of Rajasthan.

Alumni of those decades went on to become doctors, engineers, teachers, and entrepreneurs. Many returned to enroll their own children, completing a circle of trust that transcended generations. The school was no longer just a building — it was a shared memory for thousands of families.

By the turn of the century, the need for growth was clear. The institution needed new vision, new investment, and a partner who could carry its legacy into the modern age while honouring everything that had been built before.

The year everything changed

The Eden Group of Schools
takes the helm

In 2001, the Eden Group of Schools — one of Rajasthan’s most distinguished educational organisations — acquired Vidhya Niketan and renamed it Eden International School.

The transition was not simply a change of name. New science laboratories, a fully stocked library, digital classrooms, and expanded sports infrastructure arrived with Eden’s stewardship. The faculty was strengthened with qualified educators. The curriculum was modernised while retaining the school’s core values.

Most importantly, the spirit of Vidhya Niketan — the deep belief in knowledge as a transformative force — was not merely preserved. It was amplified.

The Journey Since

Two Decades of
Eden Excellence

The years following 2001 have been defined by steady, purposeful growth. Eden International School has produced students who have excelled in board examinations, won national-level competitions in science, sports and the arts, and gone on to premier institutions across India.

The campus has grown substantially. Smart classrooms, science and computer laboratories, a library, a performance hall, and expanded sports grounds have transformed the physical landscape of the school.

A school's true measure is not its buildings, but the generations it has shaped.

Today, over 25 years after Eden took charge, the school continues to evolve — in its facilities, its faculty, and its ambition. What has never changed is the spirit of Vidhya Niketan: the belief that every child who walks through these gates is capable of extraordinary things.

Holistic Development

Sports, arts, culture, community service — Eden International School believes that the whole child matters. Our students graduate not just as scholars, but as citizens, leaders, and human beings of character.

“We did not simply inherit a school. We inherited a promise — made by those who came before us to the families of Bhilwara — that every child deserves an education worthy of their potential.”
